What Does Your Favorite Football Team Say About Your Commute?
Football season is back, which means it is once again socially acceptable to spend an entire Sunday yelling at a television.
But your team says something about you. And apparently, it also says something about your commute.
We don't make the rules. Just the wildly specific observations.

AFC East
Buffalo Bills - You leave early, plan ahead, and still somehow experience an absolutely devastating setback with 13 seconds left in the commute.
Miami Dolphins - You had one perfect commute. No traffic. Green lights all the way. That was 50 years ago and we still haven’t heard the end of it.
New England Patriots - You still talk about how much better your commute was between 2001 and 2019.
New York Jets - Every morning you think, maybe today will be different. It will not.
AFC North
Baltimore Ravens - You have three alternate routes and aren't afraid to improvise. Lamar would approve.
Cincinnati Bengals - Your commute looks great on paper. Somehow, you are still concerned about the protection.
Cleveland Browns - You've tried everything. At this point, you're just tired.
Pittsburgh Steelers - It doesn't need to be pretty. It just needs to get you there with a winning record.
AFC South
Houston Texans - Suddenly optimistic. Slightly suspicious of how well things are going. Enjoy it.
Indianapolis Colts - You were making incredible time. Everything was clicking. You thought you'd cracked the code. And then the second half of the commute happened.
Jacksonville Jaguars - You refuse to abandon the route you chose, even when absolutely everyone is telling you there may be a better option.
Tennessee Titans - Nobody is entirely sure what your commute strategy is right now, including you.
AFC West
Denver Broncos - Everything was going PERFECTLY until the engine just… broke. Two blocks from the destination.
Kansas City Chiefs - You left late, missed your exit and were definitely speeding, but somehow nobody stopped you. Funny how that keeps happening.
Las Vegas Raiders - Check-engine light on. Modelo in the fridge for when you get home. Somehow, the vibes remain immaculate.
Los Angeles Chargers - You would've made it on time if there hadn't been traffic. If you hadn't hit every red light. If everything had gone exactly right. Herbert gets it.
NFC East
Dallas Cowboys - This is your year. Today’s commute will be traffic-free. And hey, one of those things might actually happen.
New York Giants - Your commute has collapsed before you even have time to figure out what happened.
Philadelphia Eagles - You don't have road rage. Everyone else is simply commuting incorrectly.
Washington Commanders - You have high hopes. The HIGHEST. And then, 15 minutes from work, everything suddenly goes very, very wrong.
NFC North
Chicago Bears - You have tried several different ways to get there and remain convinced the next one will finally solve everything.
Detroit Lions - Things are finally going your way, but now your ‘09 Accord is absolutely flourishing in LA. What a time to be alive.
Green Bay Packers - Same commute for decades. Somehow, every time you think it's finally over, another QB appears.
Minnesota Vikings - The commute is fantastic. Until it actually matters. Then suddenly you're staring at the steering wheel wondering how this happened again.
NFC South
Atlanta Falcons - Your GPS says you're 28 minutes ahead of schedule. Maybe just tighten up.
Carolina Panthers - Your commute is short. Bryce Young short.
New Orleans Saints - Your commute may be falling apart, but the playlist is excellent.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Your check-engine light came on three exits ago, but Baker says we've got this, so… we got this.
NFC West
Arizona Cardinals - You are technically participating in the commute.
Los Angeles Rams - AD ALL DAY. That's it. Who cares about anything else.
San Francisco 49ers - You have the car, the route, the plan, and the backup plan. Unfortunately, the substation has other ideas.
Seattle Seahawks - You got there. You actually GOT THERE. Does the route matter?

Okay, but actually...
Your football loyalty may be non-negotiable. Your commute doesn't have to be.
If your current game plan is “get in the car, drive alone and hope the HRBT behaves,” there are other plays in the book. goCommute services can help Hampton Roads commuters explore carpooling, transit, biking, walking and other commuter solutions that make getting around the region a little less painful.
You can even use rideshare matching in Hampton Roads to find people making a similar trip, because unlike your fantasy league, sharing a ride with another human being can actually improve your week.
Try a different play. Adjust at halftime. Call an audible.
Unless you're a Cowboys fan.
You'll just run it back next year.
